Just a Thought....Rules. Have you ever run into a situation where you have done a thing that is asked of you to follow the rules of a process. Then someone else comes along and expects to have the rules bend for them because they always expect it. For example, going to the store and getting in the ten items or less line to have the person in front of you have a full basket of items. You're expecting the clerk to at least mention this the ten items or less but they just begin to check out their cart full of groceries. With no regards to the light or sign that clearly reads, "Ten items or less" Why should they wait in a long line just like every other schmuck.Or the person that in the middle of a long traffic jam, pull in the median and proceed with no regard to safety or concern for the people in front of them. It' all about them, they can't be late or running late and don't have the patience. Or the person who sees a long line of people waiting and bypasses everyone else in the name of not wanting to wait or their too impatient or important to stand in line like the other idiots who woke up, got dressed and got to the DPS in enough time to get a good spot. The line is getting closer and closer and in walks, Mr. Too Good To Wait. Walks to the front of the line to quote "Ask a question?" Then try to finagle a better spot and position to get the clerk to check them out, or get their purchase before the next person. There are so many people out there who truly believe that the rules don't apply to them. Rules are put in place to create order and help maintain it. Why it isn't a fairly new concept, some people are either that dumb or playing coy when they try to cheat their way to the front of the line. These people are usually easy to spot. They are the ones who bitch and moan about everything and hang on to the past way too much instead of being forward-thinking They disregard rules, guidelines or any kind of authority that would prompt them to follow along. When used properly this is an effective tool to get ahead. But most of these particular type of people who don't like to follow along like everyone else are usually selfish and inconsiderate of the needs of other people. I know that we all have seen someone like this or know someone like this. Either which is terrible in its own right but we somehow haven't found the correct solution to curb this problem. People just want the aspect of being special without doing all the work to be considered exceptional. That's life in this society. But enough bitching, it's getting late and I have to arise early.
